We love to sing for you

The Mighty Power Singers are somewhat unique; we are an a cappella gospel quartet.  We are located in Edmonton, Alberta.

We sing mostly the oldies – hymns and gospels favorites – many of which are at least 100 years old.

We loveto sing at senior and nursing homes, church services, seniors events, and concerts and gospel jamborees.

We have 2 CDs: Day by Day, and a Christmas album Glad Tidings. From the sale of each CD we donate $5 to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

We have videos of us performing you can watch too on the MPS Videos page.

New baritone

Although Bob can't be replaced, we are happy to announce we have a new baritone and are back to quartet status. Colin Campbell has recently joined us as our new baritone, singing all those leftover notes for us, and keeping us on our toes and laughing with his wit. Colin has a lot of music to learn, but can quickly rise up to whatever singing gigs we have. Contact us to hear our new baritone, and the rest of MPS.

Bob's singing in Glory

"I will meet you in the morning, over there." It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Bastiaan (Bob) Van Essen, our beloved baritone. Bob was taken home to Glory suddenly on August 17, 2017. He died quietly in his sleep and now sings with the heavenly hosts in perfect harmony. We will always miss him.

As he would have it, we continue to sing, for we sing the mighty power of God, our hope and our salvation. "When we all see Jesus, what a day of rejoicing that will be."
